About COPPERMIX
This is a completely new facing created using a special production method that binds the two different friction materials of metal and non-asbestos with a higher dimensioin of union. It could be said to be "a metal that contains non-asbestos or a non-asbestos that contains metal". Here, the word metal refers to an aggregate of copper, which generate U even in high temperature ranges and which is also included in the non-asbestos facing. COPPERMIX is produced by using this non-asbestos production method to greatly increase the amount of coppper that is contained in the facing.
EXCELLENT U CONTROL HAS BEEN ACHIEVED
In the low temperature range, COPPERMIX utilizes the high u characteristics of the non-asbestos material, and in the high temperature range it utilizes the stable u characteristics of the metal to provide excellent u control. Non-asbestos has high u in the initial range, but as the temperature increases (during sports driving), the u decreases. Metal, on the other hand, does not have as high a u as non-asbestos, but it does generate a stable u even in high temperature racing. Possessing both of these characteristics makes it possible to generate the ideal u from the low to the high temparature range. For example, aleays being able to use the optimum u during clutch operation where temperature change is severe, such as when shifting down a the low temperature after driving straight for along period of time or when operating the clutch pedal to adjust the angle during cornering, not only makes the clutch easier to operate but also greatly reduces the load on the clutch disc. This also makes it easier to respond to temperature changes during actual driving and provides a performance that exceeds that of metal facings. COPPERMIX is not affected by differences in driving technique quality, which is proof that this is a high-performance clutch that anyone can use without concern.
SPECIAL PRODUCTION METHOD CREASTES A TOUGH FACING BINDING FORCE
COPPERMIX achieves high performance by increasing the amount of copper contained (50% by weight) in the non-asbestos facing. If a large amount of copper is mixed into conventional non-asbestos material, the binding performance declines and decreases the burst resistance performance. In COPPERMIX this problem is successfully overcome by using a special production method to attach a back plate(steel) to the back of the facing and to achieve a tough facing binding force.
USE OF CUSHIONING PLATE FOR EASIER OPERATION
A cushioning plate (corrugated plate between the two facing) is incorporated* to absorb the connection shock from the non-asbestos initial high u to make it easier to operate the clutch pedal
*In SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN, the cushion plate has been eliminated and reduces linkage vibration using the center hub.
EXCELLENT ANTI-BURST PERFORMANCE
NISMO clutches clear testings on both normal burst temperature value (20 degree C) and hot burst value (200 degree C).

SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN
A super strong clutch that combines ease of operation with the ability to handle allowable outputs of more than 600ps - This was the concept to development of the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN. NISMO first used this concept to develop a carbon twin product, a process that took 2 years, but the low u of carbon facings meant that they could not provide the performance of COPPERMIX. Over the next year and a half, twin plates using COPPERMIX were developed. So the result of three and a half years of development was the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN, the final model of the NISMO multi-plate clutch series.

USES A CENTER HUB
using a center hub increases the amount of engagement between the clutch disc and the transmission's input shaft serrated part to lower teh surface pressure on the serrations. This reduces the wearing of the input shaft and prevents disengagement trouble. At the same time, this also reduces the impact shock on the serrations during clutch assembling and suppresses offsetting of the two clutch discs making transmission installtion easier than for single clutches.

This is a single clutch system that takes "the ease of use" and "high power handling" forte of COPPERMIX to the next level. This series also includes a lineup of standard specification products that can handle 380ps
EMPLOYS THE INDUSTRY'S FIRST LARGE DIAMETER 240mm SIZE DISC
Employing a 240 size COPPERMIX disc and alumimum cover combination allows stable transmission and cooling performance. Based on an evaluation conducted by NISMO on several models including those of other companies, it was decided to use a 240mm size disc to prevent the drop in performance that occurs when a small diameter disc is placed under a high load. The high power handling single clutches of other companies combine a high application pressure cover with a small diameter disc, but when doing so they just divert a disc from a multi-plate clutch and set is at a high load. The 240mm size was selected to achieve excellent durability and ease of use.
